How It All Began.......

Louisiana Governor Alexander Mouton from Lafayette served from 1842-1846.  He was an uncle of the Bush family.  In 1842 he chaired the Southwestern Railroad Convention.  After retirement in 1846 he pursued railroad development.  In 1851 he was Vice President of the New Orleans, Algiers, Attakapas, & Opelousas Railroad Company.

Our Great, Great Grandfather, William Tandy Bush, Sr. started in the railroad industry in Louisiana in the mid 1800’s with the New Orleans, Opelousas & Great Western Railroad (NOO&GWRR).  It was purchased by the Morgan Steamship Company & was renamed Morgan’s Louisiana & Texas Railroad (ML&TRR).  The second generation, William Tandy Bush, Jr. was employed with them, too.  In 1878 it merged with the Texas & New Orleans Railroad (T&NORR).  In 1881 it was bought by the Southern Pacific Railroad (SPRR) & it operated as a subsidiary of the SP.  The T&NORR and many other companies merged together from 1880-1900.

The third generation, Herbert Raoul Bush, Sr. went to work for the T&NORR in 1920 in Lafayette, Louisiana.  During his career, the SPRR made the T&NORR a part of SP.  He retired in 1967.  His wife Alice also worked for the SP as a PBX operator for 30 years.

The fourth generation, William Morgan Bush, Sr. went to work for the T&NORR (later became Southern Pacific) at the age of 16 due to a manpower shortage during WWII.  At 17 he enlisted in the Navy & served 3 years active duty in the Pacific.  After his discharge in 1946 he returned to the engineering department.  Over the years he worked himself up to Assistant Division Engineer & retired in 1974.  Upon his retirement, he became a railroad contractor with a large firm in Texas.  He retired as Chairman of the Board in 1990.

Bill is the fifth generation of his family to work in the railroad industry.  He started at 16 working for local contractors in Thibodaux, Louisiana.  He worked summers during college with the Southern Pacific Railroad.
After graduation from Nicholls State University in 1974, Bill went to work with his Father’s company as a foreman.  From there he worked his way up to President of the largest railroad contracting company in the United States at that time.
He left there in 1994 to pursue business with another company where he was also President.  While there, he obtained his MBA from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas commuting back & forth from Utah for1 1/2 years & graduated in 1995.  This company was bought out by a large conglomerate & he became Vice President of Railroad Services.  He opened offices all over the United States.  He later became Vice President with another nationwide firm in the same capacity.
In 2007 Bill fulfilled his dream to open his own company.  He wants to be able to better serve his past & future customers across the United States in whatever capacity they need.  He has worked over 40 years to give each customer his full attention & individual evaluations.  He will do everything possible to successfully fulfill any railroad services that any    present customer or future one needs.
Bill has been active in several railroad organizations over the years.  He is a past president of the the National       Railroad Constuction and Maintenance Association.  He has been a guest speaker at various railroad organizations & industries that use railroads for their shipping needs.  His talks have been on safety, track consulting, maintenance and other topics of railroad related interest to that organization.  Some of his talks have been published in national magazines.

Brent worked summers & weekends during college for his Father’s company.  He built the first phase of the Salt Lake City light rail system when he was 18.  He is a 2000 graduate of Colorado School of Mines in Golden with a double major in Civil & Mechanical Engineering.
After graduating he continued to work in the Denver office. He serviced many large & small customers with maintenance, new construction, & take-ups along with working on the light rail system.
In 2001 he left to work for one of the largest civil contractors in the United States.  In Los Angeles he built several light rail & commuter system projects.  He built a large maintenance  facility for Amtrak in Oakland, CA and the Folsom Light rail extension Sacramento, CA.  From there he was transferred to Phoenix where he worked on numerous large railroad and civil projects throughout the Southwest.
In 2007 he decided to joint venture with his Dad in business.  He has a vast realm of experience in construction, maintenance, design & civil work.  He brings all of this knowledge to his customers to help them achieve their needs with superior work quality & service for the most economical price possible.
